New 6-Inch ZTE Devices Outed on GFX Bench
Now that Mobile World Congress is over, smartphone announcements and launches have gotten a little thin. Yes, we still have a couple of big releases to look forward to, such as: the Samsung Galaxy S8, the OPPO F3, and the ASUS Zenfone 3 Zoom, but the usual leak and rumor mill have slowed down to a relative crawl.
One device that we’re seeing eek its way out of the woodwork as of late is something from ZTE. Given the designation, ZTE Z986, the device found on GFX Bench is a mid-ranged smartphone. Let’s take a look at its spec sheet.
ZTE Z986 Specifications (GFX Bench)
-2.0GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon octa-core processor
-2GB of RAM
-Adreno 506 GPU
-6-inch Full HD display; 1920×1080 resolution
-9GB of storage
-12-megapixel rear camera
-5-megapixel front camera
-Android 7.1.1 Nougat
We’re not entirely sure about the SoC they’ve chosen to use on the ZTE Z986, but if we were to venture a guess it would be a Snapdragon 625 due to its clock speed and the accompanying Adreno 506 GPU. It wouldn’t have been great but, given 2GB of RAM, the end product may feel a little clunky if you’re more off a heavy user; the 9GB of storage is also a pretty weird digit to see in terms of ROM.
